FAQ
What are the main door types?

The three main door types are:
One Piece Doors (Thermofoil): available in various route styles, colours and door designs (i.e. square, arch, and cathedral). You need to specify the door design when ordering. Slab drawer fronts are standard. Routed drawer fronts are available for an up-charge.

Five Piece Doors (Thermofoil & Polyester): these doors are available in limited colours and in a square design only. See the door matrix chart for details.

Wood Doors: Wood doors are available in flat and raised panel and are unfinished. Square design is standard. Arch and cathedral designs are available in the P & S Series for an up-charge.

Can the customer order doors that are not on the display?
Yes. Other doors styles/colours are available. See our newest brochure and pitch book. Wood doors are now also available in Cherry. Call RENUIT/Nubold Industries for pricing and ordering details.
Can the customer measure the existing doors to get the door sizes?

Yes. if they are for Frameless Cabinets. If they are Framed Cabinets, please see the Measuring Guide for details.

Can the existing door hinges be used?

For concealed hinges, we strongly recommend that the customer purchase our concealed hinge as it includes a plate designed for refacing. Also, the drilling service we provide is set-up for this hinge.

Is there still a re-measure program?

No. The program is no longer available.

Is there a minimum charge for add-on orders to previous orders?

No. There is a minimum charge of $75 (retail) for the initial order.

What is the lead time for orders?
The lead time for cabinet doors is 15-20 business days. The lead time for addon orders is 8-10 business days.
What is the warranty on doors?
The warranty for thermofoil doors is five years, under normal conditions. Wood doors are warranted for 1 year against warpage and splitting. RENUIT is not responsible for finishing or installation costs on replacement doors.
How do we order more order forms?
Fax the attached Special Order Pricing Request Form to the Home Depot Support Centre at 416-412-6791.
What are the common errors when ordering doors?

Common errors include:

  • Door design (square, arch or cathedral) not indicated.
  • Drilling details not provided.
  • Routed or slab drawer fronts not indicated.
  • Up-charges are not completed for:
    • Drilling charge
    • Blended back on one piece thermofoil doors/drawer fronts
    • Routed Drawer Fronts
    • Wood Shaker – 5 piece drawer fronts
    • Wood – Arch or Cathedral design
    • Mullion and Frame only doors

Please note, only one PO is allowed per order – changes in pricing usually required a new PO and cancellation of the original one.

Ordering Information

Steps to follow when completing the order (please refer to order form for details on each step):

Step 1:
Select Door style and colour.  Also specify drilling instructions.

Step 2:
Complete Measurements and calculate the chargeable square footage.  Print this information for the customer.

Step 3:
Calculate price of doors, drawerfronts and valance.

Step 4:
Select options - Accessories and Up-charges.

Other Product Information:

  • Door and drawerfronts minimum and maximum sizes apply. 
  • All woodgrain/wood drawerfronts have the grain to width.
  • Slab drawerfronts (with matching door edge) are standard with Thermofoil 1 piece and wood doors.  Thermofoil routed drawerfronts and wood shaker 5 piece drawerfronts are available for an upcharge.
  • 5-piece Thermofoil doors come with 5-piece flat panel drawerfronts.
  • Glass is NOT supplied will the mullion and frame-only doors.
  • The plain valance is available in all door types.  The Thermofoil plain valance comes with a matching door edge; other types come with a straight edge.  Scalloped valance is also available in Thermofoil only.  Refer to the product information manual for designs and sizes.

Wood Doors - Grains and Colours Match.  Please note that the colour, graining and texture of wood doors are likely to vary from displayed samples and between individual doors due to the natural characteristics of wood.  The is the beauty of natural wood.

Self Cleaning Ovens - Due to the extreme heat vented from self-cleaning ovens, it is recommended that a filler be installed between Thermofoil door/drawerfronts and self cleaning ovens.  Also, open all doors and drawerfronts near the oven when operating in the self-cleaning mode.

Warranty:  Thermofoil doors have a manufacturers warranty for a period of 5 years under normal conditions.  See "Caring for Renuit Products in the main area of this web site, or in your "Caring for Renuit Products Guide". Wood Doors are warranted for 1 year against warpage and splitting.

Peel and Stick Adhesive Covering - All Thermofoil colours are available in peel and stick adhesive materials, providing a 100% match to doors and drawerfronts.

Hinge Boring Specs

Number of Hinges Per Door (Standard Drilling)

Doors that require boring for hinges will have the following number of holes based on height.

Hinge Boring Specifications

Hinge Hole Position:

  • 15" and under doors are 3" centers from top and bottom of door.
  • Doors 15" and over are 3 5/8" centers from top and bottom of door.
  • On larger doors where 3 or 4 holes have to be drilled, the middle hole will be spaced equally in center of door.
  • All standard concealed hinge holes are drilled for a *5/8" overlay with a 35 mm cup unless otherwise specified.

Custom drilling is available; clear instructions must be provided on the order form.
